Now this is what I call BONDING!!!!!
Now this is what I call BONDING!!!!!
Spending every single day, minute and second together! All this time together waiting for his documents to get finalized is the perfect way to really get to know each other properly and let me tell you we’re loving every single minute of it.
Dylan is adapting really well and loving his freedom. He is all over the place and constantly moving.
Bath time, brushing his teeth, removing mucus or putting saline solution in his nose is still a little difficult but it has become a lot better since the 1st day and almost no more tears.
We are having no problems feeding him because he eats everything we give him. But we’ll see how long that lasts since we already know that kids right out of the orphanage will eat pretty much everything because it’s new flavour to their taste buds and new food as well.
He sleeps about 10 hours a night and naps a little over 2 hrs during the day. For the first 3 nights Dylan had no problems sleeping with us in our bed however we were the ones who did not get much sleep. Between the excitement of having him with us and the fact that he moves and changes positions so often during the night did not give us any chance of getting enough sleep.
The 3rd night Mr. Dylan decided he wanted to play at 1:30 in the morning. He was babbling, giggling and trying to get up on our bed.
So we had to come up with a better plan and asked Vicki if she had a crib.
Once again Vicki came to the rescue and yes she had a playpen park.
We installed the playpen in our room next to our bed and Dylan has been sleeping very well in it. He will only fall asleep without crying if we lie in our bed and once he falls asleep we leave the bedroom. So when we put him to sleep we simply put him in his play pen, lie down in our bed and about 20 minutes later he falls asleep.
We are so happy because now he’s safe, secure and we can now sleep in peace.
Thanks Again Vicki!!!
He’s really funny and it’s such a joy to have him around.
He constantly follows us everywhere.
He hates when his hands are dirty and asks us to clean them.
He Loves when we dress him up with the cute clothes we brought him and looks at himself and is all proud.
We never had a chance to ask the caregivers any questions about him or his schedule so we are learning as we go and establishing our own routine and it’s working out just fine.
It seems that Dylan caught my cold that I had on the week-end. He’s been coughing a lot especially at night for the past 2 days and we’re trying every natural remedy possible.
We told Vicki about his cough and she instantly lent us a humidifier. We are making him sleep on his back a little elevated. We are giving him honey and lemon. We keep putting saline solutions and pumping out the mucus from his nose. We are giving him some Tylenol for babies, I know it’s not natural. We are trying to do everything to avoid him to get worse and having to go see a doctor. So we’ll see how it goes and so far he’s okay and does not have any fever except the coughing.
It's funny how one stress leaves and a new one instantly appears. Before we were stressed about the adoption process and now that we have him we have the stress of worrying if he’s ok. We feel bad for him because we don’t want him to suffer. He’s just so cute and so small, we don’t want anything to happen to him.
