Yes were back, sorry for the delay!!!!!!
After 2 long flights we finally got in Almaty at 1:45 a.m. The travelling went very smoothly and we got a bit of rest on the plane.
We left Almaty around 1:45 p.m. by train and arrived in Taraz around 11:45 p.m.
There was no corruption on the train, meaning nobody asked us for money. Just before we got on the train as we were in the hotel we read in a blog of a couple from Canada adopting twins in Taraz that the judge (same as ours) refused them for the adoption. That put us totally to the ground and feel so horrible for them and what they must be going through.
We have our court date tomorrow the 14th at 2:00. We are looking forward to this court date and then hopefully we can get to see our Dylan after or before court. We can’t wait to see Dylan. Just to see his beautiful face and the reaction he will have when he sees us.

Arrived in Almaty
Hi Everyone!!
It's 3:30 am and we arrived in Almaty and staying in a hotel for the night. We take the train at 1:45 and arrive on the 13th in Taraz by 11:30.pm We go to court in the afternoon on the 14th!!!

Departure
Hello Everyone,
We R Back!!!! Finally leaving for part 2 in Kazakhstan. Running around like crazy to finalize everything before we leave.... Boy do we have alot of stuff to bring. It's a good thing we left a suitcase in Kazakhstan with items that we will need again.
Let the Journey Begin!!!!

Either a 10 hr long boring train ride or 1.5 hr very bumpy and very noisy flight! not sure yet what will be available for us. We'll find out once we get to Kazakhstan.
We will arrive in Taraz on Tuesday the 13th and we have our Pre-court on the 14th and about 5 days later we will have our final court day. A couple of days later we get the decision of the judge and we then have to wait a 2 week appeal. After the 2 week appeal is over we then pick up Dylan from the orphanage and bring him to stay with us while they begin his paperwork. They will only begin getting his documents once the 2 week appeal is over. His paper work consists of
1- new birth certificate
2- adoption certificate
3- passport
4- visa
5- citizenship
We found out that we'll be staying in the same house again with Nathalie. Nathalie and Christoph have their court date on April 20th and Christoph will be coming for 2 weeks just for the the court.
The german couple that was there with us the 1st time also got their court date for April 21st. It will be nice seeing all 3 couples again!!!!

Court Delays!!!

Court Delays!!!! It looks like the court date should be about mid to end of March, but nothing is confirmed as of yet. We'll have to wait and see what the court date really will be.
The reason of the delay is because of celebrity "Casey Johnson" the heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune who recently made tabloid headlines with a purported engagement to reality star Tila Tequila, has died at age 30 on January 4th 2010.
Johnson, who leaves a toddler daughter Ava whom she had adopted in 2007 from TARAZ KAZAKHSTAN, was the great-great granddaughter of the founder of the pharmaceutical giant, and the daughter of New York Jets owner Robert Wood Johnson.
An openly gay socialite, Johnson had a knack for attracting paparazzi – and trouble.
So we were informed that the court delay was caused by all this attention and embarrassments. Now for all international adoption, the cases were moved from the Municipal court to the Regional court for additional investigations.
This is the 1st time such a situation has happened but after her death, international adoption became very popular and attracted a lot of attention which usually is not good for them and delays began.
The judges got extra instructions to be more careful and strict with the foreign citizens. They should have us all tested for drugs to avoid all these ridiculous delays.
So we are hoping that their investigations get completed fast and we leave in March to go to court and to finally see Dylan and bring him home!!!

false alarm on the departure date
We just got an email from Anna at the adoption agency in Laval and she strongly suggests to wait here for the court date and that is what we shall do. We really don't feel like wasting time over there waiting around as we all know it can be dragged on longer than expected.

Happy Birthday Dylan Korkem Casacalenda
Today is Dylan's 1st birthday and it started off a little tough! He's one year old today and we weren't able to celebrate it together and that was really HARD!!!
As I was taking pictures of Dylan's room to put on the blog I got a call from Galina from the adoption agency and she said we received the LOI-Letter of invitation to go to Kazakhstan.....I was FREAKING Out!!! She had to repeat it because I did not understand. Then I asked her, "so when do we leave"?? She said maybe the end of next week or the beginning of the week after!!!! Wow, I started crying and I told her it was Dylan's Birthday and she was also surprised and happy!!! So I called Fil and he came running home 30 minutes later and we went to the agency to bring our Passport so she can start requesting our visas right away!!! What an Emotional Day!!!!
We will be in Kazakhstan for about 2 months....that's right 2 MONTHS!!!! But once we go to court and the decision is made, Dylan will come and live with us until ALL His Paperwork is Completed and We CAN Finally Bring Him HOME!!!
